Pt. Ravi Chary is one of India’s most distinctive sitarists, known for seamlessly blending the depth of Hindustani classical music with jazz, world music and contemporary sounds. The first prominent sitarist from Goa, he has trained under maestros including Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan and Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan. He has performed at major international festivals such as WOMAD, Glastonbury and Bumbershoot, and collaborated with global artists including Trilok Gurtu, Chick Corea, John McLaughlin and Angelique Kidjo. A Grammy nominee and GIMA nominee, Ravi Chary is also the creator of acclaimed projects like Ravi Chary Crossing and Sitar Symphony.
